  • The South End of North Creek Road

The South End of North Creek Road

Looking north on CR 300 W where it intersects with North Creek Road. North Creek Road follows the Interstate here, and has a bridge across Sugar Creek. The "Road Closed" signs on the north end the previous day (about a mile before I got bit by a dog) had dissuaded me from using it then. This south part is paved; north of Sugar Creek it is loose gravel.

  • The South End of North Creek Road

The South End of North Creek Road

The actual start of North Creek road at CR 300 W. North Creek Road follows the Interstate here (seen in the distance) and has a bridge across Sugar Creek. The "Road Closed" signs on the north end the previous day (about a mile before I got bit by a dog) had dissuaded me from using it then. This south part is paved; north of Sugar Creek it is loose gravel.

  • Bridge over Sugar Creek

    Bridge over Sugar Creek

The bridge over Sugar Creek on North Creek Road. Only the UPS truck and FedEx truck had passed me on my way to the bridge; no other vehicles were encountered. It was different along the loose gravel north of the bridge.

  • Bridge over Sugar Creek

    Bridge over Sugar Creek

On North River Road, looking back (south) at the bridge over Sugar Creek. The road surface here was loose gravel.

  • North end of North Creek Road

North end of North Creek Road

North end of North Creek Road, where I left it and headed northeast on West Blubaugh Avenue. The previous day, coming from the north, I had looked at this as a possible place to cross Sugar Creek but was dissuaded by the signs, and shortly afterwards had a Rendezvous with Dog.

  • Looking west on Blubaugh Ave towards the Rendezvous with Dog

Looking west on Blubaugh Ave towards the Rendezvous with Dog

The Rendezvous with Dog on the previous day was up ahead (west) on Blubaugh Ave, seen here from the corner to which I had walked my bicycle for maybe a half mile on North Creek Road. The overpass over I65 can be seen in the distance, and the dog was a little ways beyond that.

  • On the way to a Thorntown Reserve boundary road segment

On the way to a Thorntown Reserve boundary road segment

The top segment of the arrow on the sign represents another section of road that lies on the east boundary of the Thorntown Reserve. This is taken looking north on CR 200W, after just having turned off of Blumbaugh Ave. After turning right up ahead, and then left (north) again, I will be on the boundary.

  • Red barn on CR 200W

    Red barn on CR 200W

A red barn on CR 200W (on the way to another Thorntown Reserve boundary segment) just because I like to take photos of red barns. This was taken looking south-southwest from the road.

  • County Road 175 and the Thorntown Reserve

County Road 175 and the Thorntown Reserve

County Road 175 (you can make out the "7" on the street sign) is part of the east boundary of the Thorntown Reserve. I had ridden from the west, across the railroad tracks, to get here.

  • Approximate north boundary of the Thorntown Reserve.

Approximate north boundary of the Thorntown Reserve.

Facing north on CR 100W about at the north boundary of the Thorntown Reserve. There are no definite visible marks left by that boundary at this point, unless the slight deflection of the road to the right has anything to do with that boundary. (The deflection occurs a little north of the boundary.)

  • Almost to Frankfort, Indiana

    Almost to Frankfort, Indiana

The water tower of Frankfort, the day's destination, can be seen a couple of miles ahead.
