Between Mt Vernon and Gambier. (This would prove to be a hilly day.)
Historical marker: Kenyon College.
Leonard Hall on the campus of Kenyon College. (It's a residence hall.)
Old bridge (and new) over the Kokosing River, not far south of the Kenyon College campus.
I'm not completely sure where this photo was taken, but it was somewhere on Big Run Road, likely near where it crosses the Big Run.
Heading south on Grove Church Road at the intersection with Hopewell Road.
Passing through Martinsburg, Ohio
Intersection of Martinsburg Road and Bell Church Road.
Amish school on Pleasant Valley Road
A fence stile along Pleasant Valley Road
Looking back on Pleasant Valley Road. The Amish school can be seen on the next hill, on the left side of the road.
I took a break in Fallsburg (in Fallsbury Township) but didn't get any pizza.
From Google StreetView (in 2019) it looks like this building in Fallsburg may be a former school that is now a township hall and garage.
This old school on Pleasant Valley road is not in such good shape as the Amish school on the same side of the road, six or seven miles back. It's not in as good a shape as the old school a couple miles back, in Fallsburg, either.
Climbing out of the Licking River valley on Black Run Road.
Seen on the way into Zanesville. (The geo-reference location is approximate.) The little doggy in the window seems to have been assigned some important work.
Taken just to make the point that cities are corporations, too, and just as tempted to corporate greed as any other corporations. Not that we have anything against Zanesville. We enjoyed our brief time there. For me it was all too brief before tackling more hills the next day.
